Natean's top five ways for customers to maximize oral care

So, you already know that we care about your dental health and that using Natean's thoughtfully formulated products gives you a flying start when it comes to keeping your teeth in tiptop condition. But while we are super-proud of our nature-inspired toothpastes, these products can't perform miracles on their own. You'll need to do a little of the legwork if you want to get results. Ready for your oral care 101? Read on for Natean's five top tips for maximizing that winning smile.

Tip 1: Always brush your teeth for the full two minutes!

Think you're already brushing your teeth for the desired amount of time? Chances are you're not. The American Dental Association (ADA) states that most people brush their teeth for an average of just 45 seconds, but the real recommendation is to brush for two minutes.

How to do it? How about dividing the areas in your mouth into four sections, the top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right?

Brush in each section for 30 seconds and that’s it.

To make sure you hit the full two minutes, just hit play on your favorite song and brush through the entire ham session – most songs are over 2 minutes so the music that brings a smile to your face will help keep that smile looking great. If that is not your bag, you can set a timer.

Some electric toothbrushes even have a timer function that vibrates every 30 seconds, letting you know when you’re good to move on to another area of your mouth.

Tip 2: Brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a day!

Imagine if everybody left the house every morning without brushing their teeth? For your own benefit, and the benefit of everybody around you, it’s important to brush in the morning to remove all the plaque and bacteria that have built up in your mouth overnight and leave you feeling fresh for the day ahead.

But it’s not a case of one and done, obviously. Natean would like to remind you that it’s just as important to brush your teeth before going to bed to prevent tooth decay. And don’t forget to floss, for the good of your teeth and your gums.

We recommend that our customers follow the American Dental Association (ADA) advice to clean between your teeth using floss, or an interdental cleaner, once each day.

Tip 3: Get the angle right!

When it comes to brushing your teeth, ADA recommends that you hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle.2 This is because holding your toothbrush at the wrong angle can irritate the gums and/or fail to effectively remove all the plaque from the teeth. And once you’ve got the knack, it’s the fast track to a healthy mouth.

How to do it? The best way to find the correct angle is to place your toothbrush against your teeth so that the bristles are pointing towards the gum line. Then, tilt the brush so that the bristles are at a 45-degree angle.

Tip 4: Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings

Natean recommends visiting your dentist every six months or sooner for a check-up and cleaning. The dental professional can remove plaque or tartar which you may have missed when brushing. They will also be able to spot any early signs of tooth decay or gum disease.

Tip 5: Choose Natean toothpaste

Natean’s toothpastes have been designed to provide essential oral care benefits when used with twice-daily brushing. With varieties that help control tartar build-up, fight cavities, whiten teeth, relieve sensitivity, and freshen breath we are sure you will find one that is right for you.

Oral health is a window to your overall health. Natean is passionate about promoting excellent oral health, and that’s why we have taken care to craft our products with consciously chosen ingredients.
